bio

Born in Recife - Brazil (1988), Film Studies at the University of Buenos Aires - Argentina. After award-winning short films like Leaving in 2012, they directed #YA, about civil disobedience around the world, nominated for the Crystal Bear at the Berlinale Int. Film Festival (2015), and honoured by international film prizes, featured in Deutsche Welle and ARTE. As alumni of the IDFA DocLab in the Netherlands (2017), they researched new media & digital art. They were the video artist for Maqamat Theatre in Lebanon (2018-2019), a leading voice of contemporary dance in the Arab world. Since 2019, member of the Selection Committee for the Generation Program at the Berlinale. Also for the Hamburg Kurzfilmfestival (2022-) and Durban IFF in South Africa (2023-). They were jury for the 36. Warsaw Film Festival, Fantoche Animation Festival in Switzerland, and Nordic Film Days in Lübeck. Currently directing a new film - Save the Dance, funded by BKM - German Federal Commissioner for Culture and Media. They live and work between Rio de Janeiro and Berlin.
